Introduction

The media has a significant impact on how the public feels about politics. Media sources act as effective conduits for political information, directing public attention, framing issues, and influencing how people view political events, politicians, and legislation, whether through traditional news outlets or the dynamic environment of social media. In contemporary democracies, the media plays a crucial role in determining election outcomes, policy choices, and the general direction of political discourse by establishing the agenda, framing narratives, and facilitating the quick dissemination of political information. We going to use four types of sources to explore the importance of the media in the democracy process.

Purpose 

This article aims to look at the connection between the media and the population and how they shape public opinions. Also, how does that affect political outcomes? The article emphasizes the idea that  Media must uphold ethical standards and impartiality to maintain integrity. These standards guide journalists in pursuing truth and sharing accurate, fair, objective, and transparent information. Accuracy is essential in responsible journalism as it ensures factual correctness. Fairness involves treating all parties with impartiality and respect, including diverse perspectives and voices. For example, it was stated, “By highlighting certain issues and downplaying others, the media has the power to influence public opinion and direct attention toward specific political matters.”(1)  This shows the media’s influence on what issues are given more attention, and which side the audience takes.

Audience

I believe the target audience for this article is the general audience. That is shown in the text when the author states “ more specifically people who are interested in unfiltered trust. They would like to know how the media influences their ideas on political matters.

Context

This article talks about the power of the media to influence public opinions on political matters and also how they can change political results. The author wrote this article to explain the impact and responsibility of media in society. At the same time, it explains the bridge that is between the government and its citizens. 

Author stance

The main argument of the author is that the media plays a crucial role in shaping public opinion and subsequently influencing political outcomes. The author highlights that when he said “The media’s role in shaping public opinion and its impact on political outcomes cannot be underestimated. As a vital source of information and a platform for public discourse, the media influences how citizens perceive political events and policies,” the media’s functions of informing the public, setting agendas, framing news stories, and providing a platform for public discourse. The author also emphasizes the importance of media organizations adhering to ethical standards and maintaining impartiality to ensure the integrity of their role in a democratic society.
